  • Spent Australia Day up at the Sunny Coast with Bob and Wendy. Harry’s really starting to get the hang of the beach and surf.
  • Finally sold our house in Townsville, and bought a new house in Dutton Park! We’ll be moving in, in about a month ūüôā
  • Nan turned 95!
  • Updated the site with a few new photos and updated the video of the month page with a video for January.

We wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy new year, but alas we missed the deadline.¬† Life goes on and we hope 2006 was as good to you all as¬†it was to us.¬† We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the last couple of months here in Brisbane, where it’s been great to catch up with old friends after our move from Townsville.¬† We have just had a great week off at the Sunshine Coast.¬†¬† For Christmas I (Mary) scored a beautiful Diamond and Ruby Ring (my first ring since my Wedding Ring), Harry scored way too much and Trent is so lucky to have such a wonderful family!

Harry is delighting both sets of grandparents who are now 1000km closer and we are really enjoying the baby sitting.  As well as all of the family support water has become a big part of our life.  Harry has started swimming lessons and it is now a challenge to limit the eyes down and bubbles in the nightly bath as he loves to put his head in the water.  He is also a big fan of the Brisbane water restrictions and loves to water the garden with buckets and watering cans.   When he is lucky we even put a couple of buckets in his wading pool, (hours of entertainment).  Over Christmas he seems to have learnt to climb.

Anyway I hate Christmas letters that bang on about how great peoples lives are so I will keep this message short.  We hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing Christmas New Year and hope that 2007 brings you all the good things in life.

It’s been just over a year since I moved the blog to WordPress, so I thought it was time for a new (improved?) look. No major news to report but I can provide a few stats on ‘trentandmaryandharry’ over the last 12 months…

Red-tailed Black Cockatoo

The weekend was reasonably eventful, even though Mary and Harry are in Brisbane! I decided to head down to the Town Common and take some photos (using a nice Canon camera that a very kind colleague lent me). I even got a couple from around our place of the cockatoos demolishing the local vegetation. Check out the rest of the photos here.

Cyclone Larry provided the interest for the rest of the weekend, but didn’t end up affecting Townsville thankfully.

Wow, that took some effort!

After the old blog site closed down unexpectantly (it will disappear from the blogosphere forever at the end of this month) I’ve finally finished converting all the old information over to this new blog. Hopefully if they ever close this site down (or start charging fees – I’m such a cheapskate) I can bring stuff with me a lot more easily. The down side to the new site is that I’ve had to store all the photos elsewhere at or more precisely at: In order to keep all the albums and photos on the flickr site there’s a small annual fee ($35) which I figure isn’t too bad to keep the grandparents, family and friends up to date.

We’re looking forward to Christmas – Harry especially ;), and can’t wait to share a few photos of Harry under the Christmas tree! Bye for now.
